Souad Massi - Le bien et le mal

If I had another chance
I wouldn't sing with tears in my eyes
I have come too late and I cry
"Where were you?"
"I fell into an ambush and I had a hassle", she answered me
There are people who lament over their destiny
There are people who cry on their own tombstone while they are alive
There are people who grow old before their time
We're fed up with this life

Souad Massi - Ya Kalbi (oh! my heart)!

A few days ago I heard a few seconds from this song which has haunted me since. I finally managed to trace the full track and I can't get it out of my head.

The singer was born in Algiers, Algeria to a poor family of seven children. Encouraged by her older brother, she began studying music at a young age, singing and playing guitar. Massi's music, which prominently features the acoustic guitar, displays Western musical style influences such as rock, country or the Portuguese fado but sometimes incorporates oriental musical influences and oriental instruments like the oud as well as African musical stylings. Massi sings in Algerian Arabic, French, and occasionally English and Kabyle (Berber language), often employing multiple languages in the same song. [source: wikipedia]

Ya Kelbi (Oh! My Heart)

Ou ya kelbi jir7ak tal - Oh My heart, you were broken for too long
Ou ya ech ykun sbab el walou - Oh, And what is causing all of this
Ou ya 's7ab el qeel ou el qal - And you people who love gossiping
Ou yak ma dert walou - You don't have anything to do in your life

Kol wa7ed y3raf 3ibou - Everyone knows his bad
Ou yak el denya fanya - As this life is not eternal

Ou elli mawsletloush l'3naq - And what necks don't reach
Qultu 3alih qares - You say it's rotten

Kalamkum ma yzid ma ynaqes - Your words are useless

Shaddin fi khit el rachi - You keep holding that thread
Ki nwellu lil sa7 - And if we asked for the truth,
El yakes7a btemchi - The caravan passes
Ou el kilab tenba7 - And the dogs bark
