An image from a recent trip to Valencia's Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias. The "city" is an entertainment-based cultural and architectural complex right in the heart of the bigger city of Valencia, Spain. It is the most important modern tourist destination in the city. The photo was processed from three images shot at different exposure settings.

A image from last evening’s prize giving ceremony when Matti, now aged 5, was awarded his first school prize ever. My boy was seated some eight rows in front of us in the auditorium, along with the rest of the pupils. As I was training my camera in preparation of the momentous moment he looked back towards us and snap!

Forza d’Agro, in the province of Messina, is arguably one of the most enchanting little Sicilian towns. It is not surprising that it has featured in a number of films, including The Godfather trilogy. This immensely photogenic town is set at the top of a 420m high hill with unobstructed views over the Ionian sea and the Italian mainland beyond. Narrow cobblestone-lined street rise up to the Norman castle ruins.

If you happen to be in town (and you should) then don’t miss lunch at Ristorante L’Abbazia (Piazza Giovanni XXIII - Tel. 0942.721109). Their seafood pasta is heavenly as is the unobstructed view from their terrace.

It’s spring and there is inspiration all around. Wandering along the Sicilian country roads to the East of the awe-inspiring Etna Volcano I could not help invading this little bit of nature masterpiece for a few shots.

Captured in Siġġiewi, Malta, where we experienced some impromptu agritourism courtesy of some great old friends. After spending a day at our friends’ fields, we were treated to a basketful of freshly-picked produce to take back home. Just lovely!
